What we are looking for
Neuroscience: An important focus.
Towards new targets.
We are continuing to identify promising new targets through internal discovery efforts, and we are eager to review opportunities for external alliances and licensing agreements in affective disorders, Alzheimer's disease and other causes of dementia.
Promising developments.
Neuroscience, specifically affective and psychiatric disorders, Alzheimer's disease and other areas of dementia, is an important focus for Bristol-Myers Squibb. We have a business unit dedicated to this therapeutic area, with complete sales, marketing, and medical resources.
There are several compounds in active development that have the potential to address significant unmet medical need in the areas of schizophrenia, anxiety and depression, obesity, Alzheimer's disease, and pain management.
Further, Bristol-Myers Squibb and Lexicon Genetics formed a neuroscience alliance for drug development. This alliance aims to accelerate the discovery and development of breakthrough therapies in such areas as depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, pain and Alzheimer's disease.
