There are several types of funding. Each has its own application process and parameters for grants. Please read the following descriptions before completing an application.

Educational Programming for Healthcare Providers

– Grand Rounds
- Grand Rounds or Journal Clubs are programs where the total amount requested is $5,000 or less, and have limited budget costs such as outside speaker travel, lodging, honoraria, and modest meals for participants.
– Independent Medical Education
- IME requests include Symposia, Satellite Symposia, Conferences, Teleconferences, Live Webcasts, Multi-Speaker Meetings, as well as, development of IME Enduring Materials such as Monographs, CD-ROMS, Audio recordings, Journals, Online CME, etc.

Charitable Giving

– Charitable Donations
- Charitable Donations made in support of an organization’s mission or general activities. Only tax-exempt organizations under Section 501©(3) of the US Internal Revenue Code are eligible.
– Scholarship, Fellowships, Visiting
Professorships and Non-Monetary
Recognition of Achievement Awards
- Grants made to institutions and professional societies to support the further education of health care providers and to recognize contributions to science, medicine, patients and/or the healthcare needs of the community.
– Corporate Membership Support
- Support provided to national or regional disease-related organizations or medical societies that permit corporate memberships.
– Sponsorship and Support for Specific Activities
- Support provided for specific activities and initiatives of healthcare-related organizations and institutions such as patient education, disease awareness initiatives, and activities related to improving patient access to healthcare and medications.
– Support for Scientific Organizations and Events (non-IME)
- Donations to nonprofit organizations, institutions and professional societies to support scientific conferences and educational and charitable events. Areas of support include: biology, chemistry, pharmaceutical development, clinical research, regulatory sciences, and enabling technologies. Please note that educational activities with planned discussion of safety/efficacy information should be submitted as IME.
