Open RFPs for symposia at national scientific meetings have specific deadlines based on the submission dates determined by the scientific meeting organizers. Please consult the individual RFP posting for these deadlines.
Proposal Guidelines:
Programs that are CME accredited must be fully compliant with ACCME guidelines, and the proposal should briefly describe methods for resolution of conflict of interest.
The proposal must include appropriate training for faculty in how to execute the innovative CME methodology. Learning objectives must be framed as expected learning/practice-based outcomes.
We encourage proposals that include cost effective approaches to program evaluation and outcomes assessment.
The needs assessment is to be provided and validated by the vendor.
BMS and Pfizer are requesting proposals for Independent Medical Education programs in the following disease areas:
- Venous thromboembolism post orthopedic surgery
- Venous thromboembolism in acutely ill non-surgical patients
- Venous thromboembolism in cancer
- Acute deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism
- Stroke risk and prevention in Atrial Fibrillation
- Acute coronary syndromes
Proposals should address the educational needs of the following health care providers:
- Hematologists
- Orthopedic surgeons
- Internal Medicine and other Primary Care Physicians,
- Cardiologists
- Hospitalists
- Neurologists
- Anticoagulation/thrombosis specialists
- Vascular Specialists
- Emergency Medicine and critical care specialists
- Pulmonologists
- Hospital Pharmacists
- Pharmacy Directors
- Managed Health Care Professionals
If your proposal addresses educational needs of similar physicians or health care professionals outside of the U.S., please include suggestions for extending the program in your proposal.
Although proposals including any method of education will be considered, the following educational modalities are of particular interest:
- Internet -based
- Teleconferences
- Live Meetings
- Journal Supplements
All responses must be received no later than eight weeks prior to the start date of this proposed program. In addition, responses must be received by the first Wednesday of the month in order to be eligible for review during that month.
