- The facility manufactures and packages oral and sterile dosage forms
of antibiotic products, oncological products, antiallergic products,
and antiasthmatic product. The facility also packages imported products:
hormone preparations, epidermis products, oncological products, antibiotic
products, and virucide. Products are produced and packaged only for
the domestic market.
- The Aichi facility has been contributing to the economic stability
of the local area for more than 25 years.
Economic Development
- The facility directly contributes to the local economy through employee
wages and benefits.

Community and Social Progress
Liaison officers of our neighboring companies in the district meet every
other month to discuss such local topics as the evacuation drill, cleaning
activity, traffic safety, etc.
Civic Activities:
- Aichi employees donate blood to the Japan Red Cross Organization
every year.
Awards and Recognition:
- In 2003, the Aichi plant received the gold award from the Japan Red
Cross Organization for 20 years of blood donation. Three of our employees
received awards for "Best Contributor" for their 10th blood
donation.
The Aichi Safety & Health Committee meets every month to discuss
topics such as BMS safety alerts, ergonomics, and other topics of concern.
During the National Safety Week, the committee conducts various events
to promote employees' safety and health consciousness.
As specified in BMS EHS Guidelines, Aichi conducts the fire drill twice
a year with the participation of officers of the local fire station to
train employees in the use of fire extinguishers and also invites the
liaison officers of the neighboring companies.
Several Aichi employees belong to the local amateur fire brigade to conduct
the initial fire fighting before the arrival of the fire engine of the
municipal fire station to protect local people. They are also members
of the Aichi plant fire fighting team and train other employees.
Quality of life depends, to a great extent, upon health and safety in
the workplace. On-the-job injuries not only inconvenience employees, but
they may also prevent them from participating in important community and
family activities. This is why workplace health and safety are top priorities
for Aichi's management.
Aichi's management recognizes the following as their major goals:
- EHS is routinely included in cost saving/cost avoidance initiatives.
- The facility will revise its SOPs based on the BMS EHS guidelines
accordingly.
Environmental Performance
- The Aichi Environment Committee meets every other month to discuss
such topics as energy saving and the 2010 Sustainability Goals.
